Why ‘Al Ansaar’

Our name comes from the Arabic name, Al Ansâr, meaning ‘The Helpers’. This was the name given to the companions of the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) who lived in Medina. They welcomed the Muslims migrating from Mecca and happily gave up their property, time, and energy to help establish and strengthen the growing community. The Ansar were praised by the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) for their immense self-sacrifice.
