HORSE RIDING

Connect with a gentle and noble force of nature.

The Benefits of Horse Riding

“Great good is attached to the forelock of the horse until the Day of Judgement” – The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace)

Physical

Horse riding is great for building balance, stamina, confidence, core strength and self-awareness.

Mental

Horse riding allows you to communicate with a creation of Allah beyond words. It is known to ease anxiety and depression and is often used to help treat mental health conditions.

Spiritual

Horses are mentioned many times in the Quran, in many different ways. Allah even swears an oath upon horses and upon the dust that is raised by their hooves (Quran 100:1-5). This indicates their immense nobility and station.

Emotional

The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) loved and revered horses, so much so that he would clean their faces with his own blessed scarf.

Frequently Asked Questions

This course is suitable for all riding abilities – both beginners and those who have previous riding experience.

Whilst there are no prerequisites for joining this course, we recommend consulting to a doctor before riding if you have any underlying medical conditions or concerns such as back or heart problems.

All riders must wear sturdy closed-toe boots with a small heel (such as wellies). All other riding equipment will be provided by the riding school.

If you have your own riding helmet and/or riding vest, you may use them instead of those provided by the school. Helmets need to have a Quality Assurance mark (such as a BSI Kitemark). If you are unsure, you can bring your helmet to the school and they will check for you.

All riders should wear comfortable trousers, not shorts or a skirt/dress.

You do not need to accompany your child on the course unless you wish to do so. Please note that accompanying adults may observe the lesson from beyond the fence but will not be able to actively participate in the lesson itself.

Unfortunately transport will not be provided to the venue by Al Ansaar. However, we do encourage car-sharing with other students, so if transportation is an issue please contact us at sports@alansaar.co.uk for more details about the car-share option.
